It's all about balance

From the moment you bring your puppy home to the day they leave you, it’s all about balance.

• They need to be able to move with you out in the world, but they also need to learn to be separate from you.

• They need physical and mental outlets appropriate for their age, breed and personality, but they also need plenty of downtime.

• They need engagement with you, but they also need to be able to observe calmly from the sidelines.

• They need to able to be around other dogs, people, sights and sounds, but not always engage.

• They need love, but they also need boundaries, structure and rules to ensure they can be successful in your world.

• They need food, shelter and health care unconditionally, but they also need to learn to earn.

• They need to have fun, be a dog, but they also need to be accountable for their choices.

• They need to be accountable, but they also need tolerance, understanding and acceptance from you.

All of this is down to you.

It is a responsibility and commitment every day for their lifetime. It takes work.
